3/12/2002 - ARC International (LSE: ARK), a leader in user-customizable processors for communications and consumer products, released results on the first EEMBC benchmark at Embedded Systems Conference today. Microprocessors from six manufacturers, in both out-of-the-box and fully optimized configurations, were compared for JPEG compression and decompression, gray space filtering, RGB to CMYK conversion and RGB to YIQ conversion. The results show that the optimized ARCtangent-A4 outperformed all other cores in the study.
