Virtio Introduces Virtual Platform for the Intel PXA250 Applications Processor Based on the Intel XScale Microarchitecture

2/25/2002 - Virtio Corporation, the creator of virtual platforms today introduced its Virtual Platform for the Intel® PXA250 applications processors based on the Intel® XScale(TM) microarchitecture (VPXS). VPXS is a software model of the Intel PXA250 applications processor development board and supports a variety of operating systems and tool chains including Microsoft Windows CE.NET as well as Microsoft eMbedded Visual Tools for application development. VPXS provides a software-based approach for developing software applications, middleware, and device drivers without the need for physical hardware. In addition, VPXS enables engineers to develop applications for the Intel® Personal Internet Client Architecture (Intel PCA) and other Intel XScale microarchitecture-based platforms without having to wait for development boards.
