Number of JBlend-equipped Cellular Phones Nears Five Million - Adopted in 13 of 21 Java Models

2/27/2002 - Aplix Corporation (head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Keisuke Hayashi) announced today that the number of cellular phones adopting its JBlend platform, the industry standard for embedded Java systems, is expected to surpass the 5 million mark this month. At the end of last December the number had reached 4.4 million, all of them since last March when the Sony Corporation SO503i was released as the first JBlend-equipped model.
