RadiSys Announces Signaling Extender to Bridge SS7 and IP Networks

2/5/2002 - RadiSys Corp. announced today the availability of the Savvi SX SS7/IP Signaling Extender. The Savvi SX is a standalone device that connects a legacy circuit-switched SS7 network element to an IP-enabled SS7 network element. When deployed at the circuit-switched SS7 site the Savvi SX "extends" the IP connectivity point from the far IP-enabled site to the near site thus eliminating expensive dedicated leased lines. The Savvi SX provides a low-risk migration path from a circuit to a packet-based network infrastructure. Through standards-based, high-reliability protocols and technology, the Savvi SX fulfills the industry requirement of "five nines" reliability (99.999% available) to the packet world.
