Altera Unveils Killer New Architecture

2/11/2002 - In a move that will dramatically change the nature of programmable logic design, Altera Corporation (Nasdaq: ALTR) today unveiled its new, high-performance Stratix(TM) architecture, which, combined with the LogicLock(TM) design flow feature in the Quartus® II design software, enables a true timing-locked, block-based design methodology. The new Stratix architecture includes a new MultiTrack(TM) routing structure with DirectDrive(TM) technology that yields an unprecedented 40 percent increase in performance from prior device architectures and allows for easy integration of complex functions into a single programmable logic device (PLD).
