Latest MSP430 Ultra-Low-Power Flash MCUs From Texas Instruments Increase Mixed-Signal Processing Performance 50 Times

2/19/2002 - Expanding its commitment to providing customers with low-power, high-performance MCU solutions, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) introduces four new additions to its popular line of MSP430 16-bit RISC microcontrollers (MCUs) which can provide up to 50 times more processing performance while maintaining the family's trademark ultra-low-power consumption. The new flash MCUs feature increased signal processing power, an integrated 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and a small form factor optimizing these new devices for cost sensitive embedded applications such as security systems, smoke detectors and smart tags.
