12/23/2002 - Venturcom, Inc. announced that George Downing has joined the company as Vice President, Business Development, to lead Venturcomís strategic industry partnership efforts. Downing joins Venturcom with more than 20 years of industry experience with Microsoft and HP.
Downing spent 13 years at Microsoft where he managed the worldwide marketing relationships with PC makers, spearheaded new and profitable embedded systems business, and envisioned and developed new lucrative distribution channels for OEM products. At HP, Downing was responsible for the technical relationship with several Fortune 500 companies including Weyerhaeuser and Boeing. Downing also has run several successful entrepreneurial businesses.
