New Ultra-Slim VME64x Backplane From Bustronic Comes in 2 Slots

12/16/2002 - Bustronic Corporation, an industry leading designer and manufacturer of backplanes, announces an ultra slim 2-slot VME64x backplane that maximizes performance in a minimum amount of space. The backplane is ideal for embedded computing designs where space is at a premium.

Several military/aerospace, communications, medical, security, and commercial applications are using smaller packaging schemes for their embedded systems designs. The 2-slot VME64x is only 1.56 inches wide, but packs quite a punch. With higher processing power used, systems are requiring more performance in smaller areas. The backplane utilizes high-performance stripline design and offers plenty of power connections in its 7U height for these demanding environments.

The backplane is 100% compatible with standard 6U cards and is designed to fully comply with the ANSI/VITA 1.1-1997 VME extensions standard. The backplane features power taps for +5V, +3.3V, +/-12V, +/-V1, +/-V2 and VPC. Also included are onboard and inboard termination, distributed high frequency capacitors for each slot, and distributed low frequency capacitors. The VME64x backplane product line is equipped with stiffeners to help prevent backplane bowing, increasing the reliability of the backplane. Featuring controlled impedance stripline design, the backplanes have virtually zero crosstalk.
