Toshiba Corporation chooses Agilent Technologies 93000 SOC Series; reduces mixed-signal device test time by up to 32 percent

12/12/2002 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that Toshiba Corporation, a worldwide manufacturing leader of advanced electronic and electrical products, has chosen the Agilent 93000 SOC Series Test System to reduce the test time of its high- performance CMOS mixed-signal devices. Using the Agilent 93000 tester-per-pin architecture for concurrent test, Toshiba can test up to 64 IP cores in parallel, thus maximizing test effectiveness and significantly reducing test time by up to 32 percent. Toshiba plans to install additional 93000 systems for future testing of DVD, Digital TV, WLAN and Bluetooth devices.

"Being able to use a single test system, such as the Agilent 93000, to simultaneously test multiple cores that contain analog and logic functions, is a major advantage for Toshiba," said Tetsuya Sano, senior manager of the System LSI Design Department, Toshiba Corporation Semiconductor Company. "The system allows us to save time and money and helps us increase the quality and yield of our devices."

"The Agilent 93000's high-performance mixed-signal capabilities and broad application coverage were a major selling point for Toshiba," said Tom Newsom, vice president and general manager of Agilent's SOC Business Unit. "These functions allow Toshiba to maximize use of a single test system for a wide variety of applications, now and in the future, to save on capital equipment costs.

"We were very impressed by the analog testing capabilities of the Agilent 93000," said Yoshio Murayama, manager of the System LSI Application Engineering Department, Toshiba Corporation Semiconductor Company. "The repeatable performance makes us feel confident that we are producing devices of the highest quality."
