Analogic Corporation Receives Additional Orders for Its EXplosive Assessment Computed Tomography (EXACT) Systems

12/12/2002 - Bernard M. Gordon, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Analogic Corporation (NASDAQ: ALOG), announced that the Company has received additional orders for its EXplosive Assessment Computed Tomography (EXACTTM) Systems from L-3 Communications’ (NYSE: LLL) Security and Detection Systems division. The EXACT is the “heart” of L-3’s eXaminer 3DXTM 6000, a certified Explosive Detection System (EDS) that is being purchased by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to be installed at major airports across the U.S.

The order from L-3 calls for the delivery of an additional 75 EXACT units for foreign and other anticipated orders. These units will be delivered at a rate of approximately eighteen to twenty systems per month during the first four months of calendar 2003.

Earlier this year Analogic had received in accord with a blanket order for 1000 systems, firm orders for 425 systems for delivery by calendar yearend. The Company is on schedule to deliver these units on or before December 31, 2002.
