12/3/2002 - Magma Design Automation, a provider of chip design solutions, announced the appointment of a new distributor for China. One Pass Solutions, recognized as a leading electronic design automation (EDA) solutions provider in China for ASIC design tools, will provide sales and technical support for all Magma products.
"With its rapidly growing demand and large domestic market for electronics products, China is building its semiconductor manufacturing and IC design capabilities at the same time," said Lung Chu, Magma's vice president, Asia-Pacific Sales. "Magma's integrated RTL-to-GDSII solution will enable Chinese IC companies to move into the next-generation SoC (system on chip) designs quickly.
"The key members of One Pass Solutions have an excellent reputation in China for technical support and customer relationships," Chu continued. "China is an emerging and important market for Magma in the Asia-Pacific region, and the expertise of One Pass will provide great service to the many IC design companies in China moving into the area of IC physical implementation design. I expect One Pass to be an excellent partner for Magma to deliver advanced EDA solutions that enable our customers in China to complete their RTL-to-GDSII IC designs in the shortest time possible."
"Because of its new architecture and advanced features, Magma's design solutions have demonstrated advantages over other EDA tools, and can greatly shorten time to market and improve design productivity," said Jianping Liu, president of One Pass Solutions. "We look forward to working with Magma to serve China's IC design community."
About Magma Design Automation
Magma software is used to design fast, multimillion-gate integrated circuits, providing the "Fastest Path from RTL to Silicon"(TM) to enable chip designers to reduce the time required to produce complex ICs. Magma's products for prototyping, synthesis, and place & route provide a single executable for RTL-to-GDSII chip design. The company's Blast Fusion(TM), Blast Chip®, Blast Plan(TM), Blast Noise® and Blast Prototype(TM) products utilize Magma's proprietary FixedTiming® methodology and single data model architecture to reduce the timing-closure iterations often required between the logic and physical processes in conventional IC design flows. Magma's Diamond SI(TM) also leverages the single data model architecture to provide an integrated, standalone platform for post-layout, sign-off-quality signal integrity verification.
Magma maintains headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., as well as sales and support facilities in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego, Calif.; Boston, Mass.; Durham, N.C.; Austin and Dallas, Texas; Newcastle, Wash.; and in Canada, China, Germany, Israel, Japan, Korea, The Netherlands, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. The company's stock trades on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol LAVA.
Magma, Blast Chip, Blast Noise and FixedTiming are registered trademarks and Blast Fusion, Blast Plan, Blast Prototype, Diamond SI and "Fastest Path from RTL to Silicon" are trademarks of Magma Design Automation.
