Dy 4 Systems Announces Custom Technology Centre

12/2/2002 - Dy 4 Systems, a division of Force Computers, a Solectron company, and a leading designer and manufacturer of COTS VME and CompactPCI (CPCI) products for harsh environments, announced the launch of the Dy 4 Systems Custom Technology Centre (CTC) in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom.

Dy 4 has created the CTC as an independent, dedicated team of engineering professionals who specialize in adapting and enhancing standard Dy 4 product designs to fit the unique needs of defense and aerospace projects.

With a mission to leverage standard Dy 4 COTS product technology, the CTC seeks to utilize the underlying intellectual property in new and unique ways for adaptation to customer-specific applications. In most cases, design modules from standard products can be adapted to create custom solutions while retaining maximum compatibility with Dy 4 standard firmware and software. Backed by the assurance and stability of Dy 4’s state-of-the-art design tools, manufacturing facility and corporate infrastructure, the CTC enables faster time-to-market and faster ramp-up time to software development, providing customers with quick-start capability for specific projects.

“From complete customization of new designs to enhancements of previous VME or CPCI products with highly specialized features, the Custom Technology Centre provides a unique portfolio of capabilities with rapid start-up times for our customers,” said Colin Woodbridge, director of the CTC. “For each project we undertake, our planning and engineering processes are tailored to meet individual customer requirements and provide timely and cost-effective solutions.”

CTC operates using the same development toolsets and processes as those employed by the primary Dy 4 engineering facility in Canada. As a fully integrated operation of Dy 4’s overall corporate structure, the Centre benefits from continuous communication with other Dy 4 Integrated Product Teams and has full access to an extensive range of technical data and product resources.
