11/27/2002 - QNX Software Systems, maker of the QNX® Neutrino® realtime operating system (RTOS), has sealed a distribution agreement with ARX, supplier of products and consulting services for the Nordic realtime and embedded market. The two companies aim to tap into the growing demand for reliable, realtime system software for applications in the industrial, telecommunications, military, medical and automotive sectors.
Under the terms of the agreement, ARX will handle distribution requirements across the Nordic countries. A team of seven dedicated ARX engineers and salespeople will take QNX's Neutrino RTOS to market. In addition, as ARX is certified in QNX training, it will offer courses to customers, where required. These combined capabilities will help QNX deliver superior support to customers, while still maintaining a direct sales force for the region.
"By ensuring we create a large number of leads and sales for QNX, our aim is to increase our revenue stream by 50%," said Kjell Ragnhildrod, chairman at ARX. "The overall superiority of QNX's technology and architecture in terms of its reliability and scalability makes us confident we will meet these ambitious objectives."
"QNX is committed to ensuring that the QNX Neutrino RTOS is available throughout Europe, through our QNX Authorized Distribution partners," said Kimm Krueger, director, indirect channels at QNX. "ARX will help us become the vendor of choice in Scandinavia when customers demand highly reliable, fault tolerant and robust embedded OS solutions."
