11/21/2002 - Trolltech is proud to announce that Qtopia 1.6, an application environment for mobile devices, received the prestigious Rosing creativity award from the Norwegian Computer Society. The creativity award is awarded to the Norwegian product demonstrating the highest level of creativity and with considerable export potential.
The Rosing 2002 creativity award jury emphasized that Qtopia is a high quality product with a significant potential for succeeding in the international market. The jury also pointed to the fact that Trolltech has signed agreements with significant players in the international market and that the product has received much acclaim in international media.
"Winning the Rosing creativity award is a great honor. It shows that we are indeed on the right track with our efforts to establish Qtopia as a viable alternative for mobile devices, " said Eirik Eng, Trolltech president. "Qtopia 1.6 is a product we are very proud of, and it's gratifying to receive recognition for the work that has gone into it."
Other nominees were Opera Software for their small screen rendering technology and TraceTracker for their system for electronic traceability in food value chains.
