11/21/2002 - 3Dlabs® announced that its complete family of Wildcat®4 7110 graphics accelerators are available in IBM®'s latest IntelliStation® workstations as high-end graphics solutions. The IBM IntelliStation M Pro 6219 and IntelliStation Z Pro 6221 will offer the Wildcat4 7110 as its standard high-end graphics option. Both workstations will also be available with the ultra high-end Wildcat4 7210 as a special order.
Wildcat4 uses the latest generation of 3Dlabs’ acclaimed Wildcat architecture, which is widely acknowledged as a leading graphics technology for delivering true designer productivity through unmatched performance, functionality and quality when running professional CAD and DCC applications.
“IBM is committed to delivering the best possible graphics solutions, and by offering both the Wildcat4 7110 and the Wildcat4 7210 it will create some of the most capable graphics workstations on the planet,” said Jerry Peterson, executive vice president and general manager of 3Dlabs workstation division. “Many graphics professionals will value the choice of Wildcat4 graphics solutions as they configure workstations to satisfy their most demanding graphics needs.”
“Our customers are always seeking the best graphics performance,” said Rick Rudd, manager, IBM IntelliStation workstations. “With the Wildcat4 series, we will be able to provide customers with a full range of graphics accelerators.”
Shipping with 256MB of on-board memory, Wildcat4 7110 is specifically engineered to provide unmatched high-end graphics performance with the new-generation of AGP 8x workstations by transferring a full 2GB of graphics information per second to the graphics subsystem for outstanding geometry-intensive performance. The ultra high-end Wildcat4 7210 increases the on-board graphics memory to an astounding 384MB and provides Frame Lock/Genlock connectors for advanced simulation and other multi-display applications. Wildcat4 is available on Microsoft® Windows® 2000 and XP operating systems with custom drivers for AutoCADÒ and 3ds maxTM. 3Dlabs expects to introduce 3D-optimized Linux® drivers for the Wildcat4 in early 2003.
