“Our RouteFinder VPN products are well recognized for their VPN functions and capabilities,” states Chip Harleman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Multi-Tech Systems, Inc. “But the growing need for Internet protection is making their firewall security capabilities increasingly more important. We are announcing two new products for larger enterprise networks and mid-sized organizations that emphasize firewall functionality. They include content filtering with a free, one-year URL subscription utilizing SurfControl®’s content categorization. Also provided are web reports that detail access and denial activity, which allows administrators to monitor the surfing habits of users in terms of acceptable usage, and attempts to reach restricted sites. The new products also include a H.323 passthrough feature allows devices like MultiVOIP Voice over IP gateways to be connected behind a firewall for security with any H.323 packets routed to pre-determined destinations. By enhancing their firewall capabilities, we have positioned these two new RouteFinder VPN Internet Security Appliances to address the VPN needs of both enterprise and mid-sized organizations plus their growing requirements for state-of-the-art firewall protection and content filtering.”

The new RouteFinder VPN’s one-year URL content filtering subscription allows administrators of an RF600VPN or RF660VPN to utilize SurfControl®’s content categorization list, the world’s largest database of Internet content, which includes 5 million web sites covering over 900 million web pages. It offers 40 categories providing extensive coverage of offensive and inappropriate sites, as well as a wide range of sites that may have a negative impact on productivity in the workplace. Daily updates of categorized sites are available for download. In addition, it includes URL access and denial reporting. The subscription can easily be renewed on an annual basis.
