11/19/2002 - Multi-Tech Systems, a leading data communications technology company based in suburban Minneapolis, announces an expansion of its embedded solutions product line to include Ethernet and telephony interface modules. The new “Socket” line of embedded products are typically used by developers to add communications and connectivity capabilities to non-PC products with a minimum of development time and expense. The new SocketEthernetIP is a serial-to-Ethernet interface module with a complete TCP/IP protocol stack used for connecting devices to an IP network. The new SocketSLIC is a telephony module that converts an analog interface, such as a telephone, to a digital signal for phone systems, central office equipment, channel banks or VoIP gateways. These two new products join the Multi-Tech family of SocketModem and SocketModemIP products designed for use in modem-ready devices.
“The new SocketEthernetIP and SocketSLIC modules add another dimension to our existing line of embedded products,” states Chip Harleman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Multi-Tech Systems, Inc. “With the addition of Conexant’s SocketModem line earlier this year, Multi-Tech has consolidated its position as the number one modem supplier of embedded modems worldwide. These new products expand our embedded line beyond modems to include other connectivity solutions developers often need. With the expansion of non-PC connectivity in devices as diverse as remote airport lighting systems, gas station fuel-level monitoring, and in home patient medical monitoring, it is not surprising that this type of communication is showing significant growth.”
The new SocketEthernetIP is a complete, ready-to-integrate serial-to-Ethernet module with a complete TCP/IP protocol stack. It is used to connect legacy devices to an IP network for remote monitoring, control and configuration.
The new SocketSLIC is a complete, ready-to-integrate isolated, and programmable Analog-to-PCM (digital) interface module. It provides all standard analog interfaces (FXS, FXO, and E&M, etc.) on a single programmable module allowing developers to easily interface any telephony equipment.
The SocketModem (previously ModemModule and Conexant SocketModem) is a complete, ready-to-integrate, global line of socket-mountable modem modules offering V.92/V.90/V.34/V.32bis/V.22 serial and parallel data/fax/voice/IP capabilities including models meeting medical and industrial specifications. V.34 fax is also available on selected models supporting Class 1.0 and 2.1 code sets, and utilizing “on-the-fly” fax compression conversion utilizing the MH, MR and MMR compression techniques.
The SocketModemIP (previously ModemModuleIP) is a complete ready-to-integrate and Internet-ready global socket-mountable module offering complete V.92/V.90/V.34/V.32bis serial data/fax/voice capabilities with V.34 fax also available supporting Class 1.0 and 2.1 code sets, and utilizing “on-the-fly” fax compression conversion utilizing the MH, MR and MMR compression techniques.
