11/18/2002 - Centurion Wireless Technologies, a leading manufacturer of antennas and power products for wireless communications, announced the launch of its RevieTM line of internal antenna solutions to support data applications over GSM, DCS, PCS, 868 and 2.4 GHz ISM networks.
A growing wave of enterprise applications in the medical, industrial and automotive industries have begun using GSM/DCS frequencies and GPRS protocol as an efficient, high-speed method of transferring data. Since wireless applications for remote control, meter reading, remote monitoring, telemetry and security do not require 3G transmission technologies to be effective, data can run economically over Europe's ubiquitous GSM infrastructure.
"The Revie line of antennas are the perfect solution for OEM's that produce GSM and GPRS modules and want to capitalize on the growing GSM data market," said Tom Trexler, European Managing Director for Centurion Wireless Technologies, Inc. "Like all of Centurion's products, these antennas are cost efficient, high performing and easy to integrate into mobile devices."
Revie antennas are ideal for low volume applications because they have an independent ground plane design, which minimizes the engineering resources, needed for production. Revie antennas are also available with customizable cable and connectors to offer connection to the majority of GSM module offerings. Additional models cover the 868 ISM, PCS and 2.4 GHz Bands offering solutions for Bluetooth and 802.11b WLAN applications.
