Performance Technologies Introduces Integrated Ziatech 2.16 Platforms for Creation of High Performance Embedded Applications
11/13/2002 - Performance Technologies announced new additions to its ZiatechTM product family of CompactPCI® Single Board Computers, platforms and components. This expanded product offering helps original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) quickly and cost-effectively implement standards-based hardware systems, as well as reduce time-consuming integration steps from multiple vendors.
With the new products — the Ziatech ZT 5088e General Purpose PICMG® 2.16 Platform, the ZT 5085e Redundant Host PICMG 2.16 Platform and the ZT 5524e Single Board Computer — Performance Technologies offers one of the most comprehensive suites of complementary PICMG 2.16-based products in the market. These products are the company's first since its acquisition of the Ziatech Computing Products Group from Intel Corporation in September 2002.
Performance Technologies' suite of products provides one of the highest levels of integration to the communications, industrial or military sectors. Its product lines are capable of delivering complete system-level solutions, which include platforms, single board computers, Ethernet switches, chassis management, network access, SS7 signaling and a full suite of communications protocol and development software.

Ziatech ZT 5085e 12U Redundant Host PICMG 2.16 Platform
- Supports redundant-host architecture for I/O-intensive applications, which allows active/active or active/standby system master configuration with low latency applications fail over (<30 milliseconds) when configured with two ZT 5524e single board computers.
- The attributes listed above for the ZT 5088e also apply to the ZT 5085e.
Ziatech ZT 5524e High Performance Single Board Computer
- Offers single slot occupancy and compatible with both the ZT 5088e and ZT 5085e PICMG 2.16 platforms.
- Has single or dual 933 MHz Pentium® III processors, up to 4 GBytes of SDRAM memory and 512K of L2 cache.
- IPMI-based for increased management capabilities and reliability.
- ZT 5524e board pairs can be used in redundant host mode to provide a high-availability, low-latency fail-over solution, for both legacy CompactPCI-based architectures and PICMG 2.16-based packet switched architectures.
