11/13/2002 - Agilent Technologies and Lamprey Networks, a leading provider of test, interoperability and verification services for new and emerging networking technologies, announced an automated InfiniBand compliance test suite based on the Agilent E2954A Exerciser. In order to be included in the proposed InfiniBand Trade Association's (IBTA) Integrators List, InfiniBand products will be required to comply with the IBTA Integrators List measurement policy, which includes Agilent's suite of compliance tests.
Agilent and Lamprey worked in conjunction with the IBTA Compliance and Interoperability Working Group (CIWG) in the development of a compliance test suite executable within the Agilent Exerciser's graphical user interface (GUI). Lamprey's expertise in developing industry standard compliance tests was used to develop the InfiniBand compliance test suite using Agilent hardware and software.
Engineers currently use the Agilent E2954A Exerciser to validate InfiniBand designs such as switches, routers, host channel adapters, target channel adapters and systems. The Agilent Exerciser can provide a controlled stimulus and response of arbitrary InfiniBand traffic to test compliance, corner cases, and stress and error scenarios or to emulate an InfiniBand device.
"The result of Lamprey's long and successful working relationship with Agilent is a large number of tests for the integrator list implemented on the Agilent Exerciser," said Alex Neefus, principal design engineer for Lamprey Networks. "This achievement can largely be attributed to the quality of the Agilent Exerciser, a versatile and reliable test tool."
"Agilent and Lamprey's relationship with the IBTA's Compliance and Interoperability Working Group has enabled the companies to produce a gold standard for automated compliance test," said Siegfried Gross, vice president and general manager for Agilent Technologies Boeblingen Verification Solutions Division. "We both are committed to expanding InfiniBand compliance test capabilities to help companies create the highest quality InfiniBand designs as fast as possible."
The Agilent E2954A Exerciser responds to incoming traffic in real time. This capability can be controlled with a GUI or through a script interface based on C++ or TCL. An optional compliance test suite -- the E2954A option 100 -- is available with pre-written tests for automatically verifying a large number of compliance statements defined in the InfiniBand specification. This software also is customizable with a TCL or C++ interface.
U.S. Pricing and Availability
The Agilent Exerciser E2954A for InfiniBand 4x is available now for $38,000. The Agilent compliance test suite option 100 is available now for $5,000.
