11/12/2002 - Micron Technology announced it signed Advantech as an Authorized Systems Integrator (ASI). The agreement authorizes Advantech, a systems integrator specializing in hardware and software solutions for web-enabled applications, to develop integrated hardware solutions for its customers using Micron's SyncFlash® memory products.
The first SyncFlash memory-based solution to be offered by Advantech, as a Micron ASI, is its recently announced x86-based Instant-On SBC demo board that is capable of fully booting in 3 seconds. Advantech engineers are bringing instant-on performance to an Advantech x86-based (NS GeodeTM GX1) single board computer utilizing SyncFlash memory and running Microsoft Corp.'s newest Windows CE OS. Advantech's combination of a GX1 CPU, SyncFlash memory and Windows CE OS provides an ideal solution for customer applications requiring fast response.
"SyncFlash memory is ideal for many applications within the networking and embedded computing markets, and can be used to enhance current applications within these segments," said Jan du Preez, Micron's Vice President of Networking and Communications. "Advantech's strength is in customizing e-business web applications and software. Our SyncFlash devices add new capabilities to Advantech's solutions expanding the presence of SyncFlash memory and providing customers complete solutions and quick time-to-market — added value available only through a system integrator. We are pleased Advantech is part of the SyncFlash memory team."
"Memory is a critical element to consider in the integration of a system, and SyncFlash memory allows a level of performance not possible with other memory types," said Jeff Chen, Advantech's Vice President of Embedded Computing Group. "We look forward to the enhancements SyncFlash memory adds to our product offerings."
