11/8/2002 - IP Infusion, a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced IP services, announced that it participated in the IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) development effort at the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) interoperability and conformance testing event in France from September 23-29, 2002. IP Infusion tested its IPv6 family of software products and successfully interoperated with 23 participating companies.
The event, which was organized by ETSI's PlugtestsTM Service, chiefly focused on interoperability for RIPng, OSPFv3, BGP-4+, IPSec, and IPv6 over PPP routing protocols that support a number of IPv6 RFCs (for a list of RFCs please see ETSI). IPv6, which was developed by the IETF, provides unlimited IP address space plus support for built in mobile IP and IPSec.
"ESTI's Plugtests event provides a unique interoperability forum for companies, like IP Infusion, to participate in and learn from many IPv6 software and systems providers. This kind of test environment is ideal to help verify interoperability with the latest offerings from key industry vendors before customers attempt to implement multiple vendor solutions," said Govind Desale, vice president of operations at IP Infusion. "IP Infusion is one of the most advanced IPv6 source code providers in this event; we welcomed the opportunity to test our software with the other IPv6 users and vendors."
The Plugtests interoperability event allowed vendors to test their products against a number of leading IPv6 solution providers, including those from: Ericsson Telebit A/S, Hitachi Ltd, Ixia, Lucent Technologies, NEC corporation, Samsung Advanced Institute Of Technology, Agilent, 6WIND and Nokia.
