Equator and Reality Commerce Announce D1 MPEG-4 Encoder Availability on Equator's Tetra Platform

11/8/2002 - Equator Technologies, a provider of high-performance, programmable and power-efficient system-on-a-chip (SoC) processors for video streaming and image processing applications, and Reality Commerce Corporation (RCC), an advanced video software solution provider, announced the availability of RCC's MPEG-4 encoder for Equator's widely adopted TetraTM Hardware Platform. This powerful combination of hardware and software enables Equator's customers to integrate this solution into security and surveillance applications to low bit-rate consumer applications.

RCC's MPEG-4 encoder provides real-time encoding for SIF, D1 and D1 resolutions for both PAL and NTSC input. The encoder allows on-the-fly adjustment of bit rate, yielding a transmission or storage rate ranging from 1Mbps to 6Mbps for D1 encoding, 500Kbps to 3Mbps for D1 encoding and a sweet spot of 250Kbps to 500Kbps for SIF encoding.
