11/4/2002 - Trimble introduced a new version of its Trimble Survey Pro software designed specifically for surveyors familiar with Tripod Data System's (TDS) software who want to take advantage of Trimble's new ACU controller.
Trimble Survey Pro software is based on TDS's Survey Pro, the most popular field data collection and computation package for surveyors in North America. TDS Survey Pro is a product of TDS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Trimble. Trimble Survey Pro retains the data collection strengths of the familiar TDS interface with the added advantages of on-board speed achieved with the attachable ACU platform and numerous software features unique to Trimble. A further benefit is the direct integration of the field software with the positioning sensor and office software technologies, which form the industry-leading Trimble ToolboxTM of Integrated Surveying solutions.
The ACU controller, representing the next generation in survey controllers, is designed to work with Trimble's surveying systems, including the new 5800 RTK Rover system, the 3600 series of mechanical total stations and the 5600 series of servo driven total stations. The ACU is a powerful Windows CE-based data collection tool. It provides a color, graphical display with an interactive user interface that is portable and attachable to both total stations and measurement rods. Featuring Bluetooth technology, the ACU controller allows for cable-free operation and remote control of the 5800 GPS receiver for RTK surveying.
"Trimble Survey Pro field software integrates the capabilities of Trimble and TDS into one powerful package," said Jürgen Kliem, division vice president of survey for Trimble's Geomatics and Engineering Division. "Our new software version, operated on the innovative ACU controller, truly represents the next generation in advanced surveying systems. With Trimble Survey Pro, surveyors will be able to achieve maximum efficiency, versatility and consistency with a user interface they already know."
Trimble Survey Pro software is available now through Trimble's Geomatics and Engineering Division dealer network.
