10/28/2002 - Wavemakers, a developer of voice optimization software, announced that it has joined Hitachi Semiconductor (America)’s Community Enabling Telematics (COMET) partnership program. The new cooperative association allows its member providers to make comprehensive and vertically integrated, one-box system development solutions available to system engineers designing telematics and Car Infotainment System (CIS) products.
As a result of the COMET initiative, system engineers can now more easily evaluate multiple software and middleware products running concurrently on a single hardware platform. This helps them jump-start development projects, maximizing the resources and time needed to implement telematics and CIS products for the North American market.
"With Wavemakers focused exclusively on servicing the automotive OEM requirements, we are excited to join the Comet program in providing world class products," said Richard Sones, Director of Sales and Marketing. "The entire Waveware library is now available on the Biscayne and BigSur platforms, thereby allowing Tier Ones to provide very high quality voice applications with our ClearStream (noise cancellation), EchoBlock (echo cancellation) and WaveBeam (dual element) solutions. The code itself is optimized to take advantage of the on-board, floating-point unit and ensures maximum performance and minimum MIP cost while giving the OEMs a tightly integrated, adaptive and robust system."
In better than real time, Wavemakers' ClearStream speech capture software detects and extracts voice from virtually any audio signal. A high performance solution with minimal memory and processing load impact, ClearStream is the new front-end archetype for voice user interfaces.
