10/25/2002 - IP Infusion, a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced IP services, announced that IP Infusion's ZebOSTM routing software, S3's MPLS Application Reference Solution, and IBM's PowerNP NP4GS3 network processor have been combined to create an MPLS-VPN networking demonstration at the Network Processor Conference in San Jose, California on October 23-24. The companies' booths will be interconnected via a private network. Real-time video will be sent across this network using VPNs defined by label-switched paths over MPLS.
"By combining the strengths of our respective companies, we were able to quickly develop this MPLS-VPN demonstration. The integration of our ZebOS ARS control plane code and S3 MPLS forwarding code on the PowerNP reference platform can enable service providers and networking equipment vendors to efficiently develop VPN applications and services," said Chuck Sannipoli,Vice President and General Manager of the Network Processing Group at IP Infusion.
"S3 continues to extend our network processor based offerings to help reduce development cost and time-to-market for network equipment vendors. This demonstration combining S3's MPLS fastpath code running on IBM's award winning PowerNP4GS3 device with IP Infusion's ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite shows the power and flexibility of a integrated MPLS subsystem based on a network processor," stated Jim O'Donoghue S3's Network Processor Business Unit General Manager.
"We are delighted that two of our 'Ready for IBM Technology' partners, S3 and IP Infusion, have jointly developed this MPLS demo, demonstrating the continued growth of the supporting infrastructure surrounding the network processing industry," added Armando Garcia, vice president of network processors, IBM Microelectronics.
