10/23/2002 - Peerless Systems, a provider of imaging and networking solutions, announced that its next-generation high performance color and monochrome controllers will be accessible through a new open workflow Application Program Interface (API) that Peerless will make available to its partners. With a controller API, workflow can be automated to support custom office and production environments including document management, device relationship management (DRM), accounting and vertical applications such as third party digital publishing, color management and on-demand printing. This powerful, yet simple interface allows OEMs, VARs, resellers and third party developers to use industry standards including XML, SOAP, JDF and PDF to differentiate their imaging products. Peerless Systems will be showing its next generation technology at the company’s private technology suite during the XPLOR 2002 trade show October 27-30.
"Based upon significant experience building controllers for printers and MFPs, Peerless has now taken the technology to the next level. We have developed an innovative workflow API that will give our OEM customers the power to choose their partners in the critical areas of systems integration," said Steve Robinson, vice president of marketing at Peerless Systems. "This major new development is the result of responding to our customers needs for a flexible approach to integrate MFP solutions with third party software applications for complete vertical solutions."
To schedule an appointment to view the Peerless’ next-generation imaging technology at the XPLOR trade show or for more information, please call Gerry Gray at (3l0) 297-3124. The Peerless Systems technology suite will be located at the Anaheim Hilton.
