3Dlabs Ships Unified Acuity Driver Suite for Wildcat VP Accelerators

10/23/2002 - 3Dlabs® introduced the new, unified 3Dlabs AcuityTM Driver Suite for the Wildcat® VP line of fully programmable graphics accelerators, which contain professional grade OpenGL® and Direct3D® drivers for Windows® users. Certified for key professional applications, the Acuity Driver Suite also includes a customized 3ds maxTM R4 driver, which boosts performance by 20 percent, and a brand new 3Dlabs Acuity Window Manager to increase designer productivity, particularly on dual screen desktops.

The Acuity Driver Suite comes standard with the new Wildcat VP560 entry-level professional graphics accelerator, also announced today. Existing Wildcat VP users may download the driver suite, free of charge, from the 3Dlabs’ website. Since the Acuity Driver Suite is a unified architecture, it significantly simplifies the maintenance of graphics installations that deploy multiple Wildcat VP boards.

"The 3Dlabs Acuity Driver Suite increases graphics productivity for all Wildcat VP customers, by streamlining the installation process and providing significant Window Manager functionality," said Neil Trevett, senior vice president of market development at 3Dlabs. "The Acuity Driver Suite will run on all current and future accelerators based on 3Dlabs’ Visual Processing Architecture, and we are committed to continuously develop and enhance the suite to deliver the latest graphics technologies to our customers."
