10/21/2002 - BittWare released the Tiger-PMC+, a new PMC DSP card featuring the 250 MHz Analog Devices ADSP-TS101S TigerSHARC DSP, the industry's highest performance floating point DSP. The PCI mezzanine card boasts four ADSP-TS101S DSPs, a 64-bit 66 MHz PCI interface via BittWare's Sharc® FINTM ASIC, and up to 256 MB of SDRAM. With 6 GFLOPS of sustained processing power and over 2.5 Gigabytes/s of I/O bandwidth, the Tiger-PMC+ represents an incredibly powerful integrated subsystem.
Because the Tiger-PMC+ is fully compatible with any PMC-capable carrier board, designers can use it to add leading edge DSP performance to systems that may be built on a PowerPC or Pentium solution by plugging it directly onto the single board computer. When attached to one of BittWare's PMC+ capable carrier boards, the Tiger-PMC+ also supports BittWare's PMC+ extensions, which include four link ports, an I2C interface, a reset line, and interrupts directly to the DSPs on the carrier board.
"Obviously, this product can be added on to our Tiger-PCI and 6U cPCI products to increase processing density, but that's just the beginning of the possibilities," said Jeffry Milrod, president of BittWare. The Tiger-PMC+ - 6 GFLOPS of ADSP-TS101S Performance on PMC Card
The Tiger-PMC+ integrates ADSP-TS101S processing power with a 64-bit 66 MHz PCI interface, expansive memory options, a variety of I/O interfaces, and BittWare's SharcFIN ASIC technology - all on a single PMC card. The board features four ADSP-TS101S TigerSHARC DSPs, each providing 1500 MFLOPS of processing power for a total of 6 GFLOPS. I/O interfaces on the board include four 250 Mbyte/sec external link ports, a 64-bit 66 MHz PCI interface, a JTAG emulation interface, and BittWare's PMC+ extensions, which include four additional link ports. For memory options, the board supports a 64-256 MB bank of SDRAM and an 8 MB bank of flash memory.
Providing the backbone of the Tiger-PMC+ architecture is BittWare's SharcFIN ASIC for the ADSP-TS101S (SFIN-101). The SharcFIN offers a comprehensive set of bus interfaces and peripherals for TigerSHARC DSPs and provides a clean, elegant board-level implementation. It integrates a full 64-bit 66 MHz master PCI interface, a peripheral bus that interfaces the DSPs to peripherals such as flash memory, and an extensive flag and interrupt multiplexer.
Available Software Development Tools
Complete software support for the Tiger-PMC+ is available through BittWare's rich set of development and run-time tools. BittWare's DSP21k Toolkit allows users to easily develop application code and integrate the Tiger-PMC+ into their systems. Drivers are available for Windows and Linux; a source code porting kit is also available. The board is fully compatible with Analog Devices' VisualDSP++® code development tools and supports in-circuit emulation, and BittWare's VisualDSP Target provides a software debugger target that is integrated with VisualDSP++. The board is also supported by SpeedDSP, BittWare's extensive set of highly optimized C-callable runtime libraries, and by SharcLAB, BittWare's target for MATLAB, Simulink®, Stateflow®, and Real-Time Workshop®. Real-time operating systems available for the Tiger-PMC+ include Analog Devices' VisualDSP Kernel (VDK), Wind River Systems' Virtuoso, and OSE Systems' OSEck.

The Tiger-PMC+ is available immediately and is priced under $3,000 in OEM quantities. Other members of BittWare's Tiger DSP board family include quad PCI and 6U CompactPCI ADSP-TS101S boards.
