10/17/2002 - Mercury Computer Systems announced that it has delivered its RACE++® Series PowerStreamTM MP-510 systems to Raytheon for use in Phase 1 of the U.S. Air Force Multi-Platform Radar Technology Insertion Program (MP-RTIP). Mercury has received orders totaling about $1 million and additional orders may follow, depending upon development efforts. As the lead subcontractor on the Global Hawk program, Raytheon Company’s Space and Airborne Systems business will integrate Mercury’s computer systems into the next-generation Global Hawk MP-RTIP architecture. Raytheon is also a principal subcontractor for MP-RTIP development on the Multi-sensor Command and Control Aircraft (MC2A) program.
MP-RTIP will design and develop a family of common modular, scalable radar systems for future integration on advanced airborne manned and unmanned surveillance platforms for the United States and NATO, to include the Global Hawk unmanned aerial reconnaissance system, the MC2A, and a sensor for the NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance System.
