New Development Platform for ARM9/Linux Mobile Device Development

10/14/2002 - MIZI Research (Seoul, Korea) unveiled 'Linu@Box for ARM9', an ARM9-powered hardware/software platform for developers of Linux-based mobile devices such as PDAs and smartphones.

Based on a 200 MHz S3C2410 ARM920T-based system-on-chip processor, the platform includes a range of useful functions including a 64-key keyboard, 240x320 pixel touchscreen, NAND Flash memory controller, and interfaces for USB (host and device), parallel printer, dual PS/2, three serial ports, IrDA, and IIC.

The platform also comes with a CD containing Mizi's complete Embedded Linux OS and development toolkit (currently based on Linux kernel 2.4.18), including an extensive array of device drivers for the board's numerous resources (sound, LCD, USB host/slave, PCMCIA, IrDA, Ethernet, touch, etc.).

Also included, is a suite of application software for PIM functions (Address, Schedule, Todo, Memo, etc.), Internet, MultiMedia, and more.
