10/14/2002 - Intrinsix, the largest independent ASIC and System (SoC) design company, announced that it has joined ATAPTM, the ARM® technology access program. Through this program Intrinsix becomes an approved design center and gains access to additional ARM Intellectual Property (IP).
Intrinsix provides complete design services for clients developing ASIC, system-on-chip (SoC) and Application Specific Standard Products (ASSP). "Intrinsix has the most experience integrating ARM processors in multi-processor SoC designs in the industry with 25+ designs under our belt", explained Josh Schissler VP of Business Development at Intrinsix. "Becoming an ATAP member further substantiates this experience and expands our ability to quickly bring ARM processor and peripheral solutions to a broad base of clients."
"The incredible success of the ARM Foundry Program in North America has meant the demand for ARM technology design services is becoming even more important," said Kevin Smith, Foundry Program Licensing manager, ARM. "The appointment of Intrinsix to our global network of approved design centers, will offer our Partners greater access to local design services, help speed up their design cycle and reduce their time-to-market."
About the ARM ATAP Program
There are currently 34 Partners in the ATAP program, with a resource of more than 3,200 engineers available to work on ARM core-based SoC designs. ATAP design Partners must go through a strict qualification process to become an ARM Approved Design Center. This includes a design flow audit, training on implementing designs with ARM cores, tools, AMBA® interface peripherals and development techniques. Each Design Center must demonstrate its own unique skills in specific technology domains, as well as end-market expertise. The ATAP program also provides additional benefits such as geographic and time-zone locality and local language support.
Intrinsix Corp. is the largest independent Electronic Design Outsourcing Company. With highly experienced engineers and teams, Intrinsix architects, designs and verifies hardware and software for complex electronic systems. These systems are most often System on Chip (SoC) designs in networking, wireless and digital media applications. As a result of the demanding feature and time-to-market characteristics of these applications, Intrinsix rapidly delivers its SoC hardware and deeply embedded software to customers by using state of the art co-design and co-verification techniques. Intrinsix provides these services to leading electronics and defense companies that have devices produced by semiconductor vendors such as Texas Instruments (TXN), IBM (IBM), Agere (AGRA), LSI Logic (LSI), Philips/VLSI (PHG), Atmel (ATML) and Toshiba ( among others. Intrinsix also utilizes industry standard tools from companies such as Synopsys (SNPS), Mentor Graphics (MENT), Verisity (VRST), and Cadence (CDN), among others. The company's lengthy list of successful customers and partners attests to the high quality of its engineering and results-oriented teamwork. Intrinsix has a network of Design Centers strategically located throughout North America and Europe.
