Extended Systems Boosts Security, Adds Enterprise-Class Deployment Features to Mobile Data Sync Software

10/10/2002 - Extended Systems, a leading provider of mobile information management solutions for the enterprise, announced an Oct. 28 release date for XTNDConnect Server 3.5, an enhanced version of the company’s mobile data synchronization software that includes enhanced security features, advanced deployment tools, and a robust set of device management capabilities.

In addition to boosting security and providing more tools for IT to effectively deploy and manage mobile devices, Extended Systems has eliminated the need for third-party desktop software support with XTNDConnect’s new independent client deployment feature. While competing products still rely on third-party desktop software, this new feature allows a quick and easy client install of XTNDConnect Server, eliminating the extra time and effort associated with supporting varying desktop software.

"In order to further demonstrate the value of enterprise-wide deployments of mobile devices and applications, Extended Systems continues to provide companies with the tools they need to securely and cost-effectively deploy and manage large-scale mobile initiatives," said Don Baumgartner, Extended Systems’ vice president of worldwide marketing. "The more advanced Extended Systems’ mobile software solutions become, the higher we raise the bar and the more value we demonstrate, not only to the enterprise but to the industry as a whole."
