10/9/2002 - TimesTen announced that Orange, one of the world's leading mobile communications companies, is using TimesTen's real-time event processing system within a time-sensitive operational support (OSS) application. The application was built in association with Logica, the global solutions company, and relies on the performance of TimesTen® to analyze and compare information as it streams from the network.
TimesTen helps operators implement powerful, high-ROI operational systems through its real-time performance, efficient architecture, and near-zero administration. In the case of Orange UK, TimesTen enables them to handle large volumes of information each day on cost-effective hardware, with minimal administrative resources. TimesTen was selected for its real-time responsiveness and ease of integration within Orange's existing infrastructure.
"We chose to work with TimesTen because we saw significant benefits in having a reliable partner to manage the commercial and technical complexity of handling and analyzing large quantities of data quickly and at a reduced cost," said Colin Elder, senior project manager, Orange UK.
"Leading operators are deploying TimesTen across a range of applications where time-to-market and processing time are the keys to making or saving money," said John Trembley, director of telecoms and networking at TimesTen. "TimesTen's focus on telecoms ensures the technical benefits of custom, proprietary infrastructures with the cost savings and flexibility of conventional software."
