1/2/2002 - New technology advancing the capabilities of home networking with the latest IEEE 1394b standard-compliant products will be demonstrated by Texas Instruments, January 8-11, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, (Booth #13737). The new technology is among the first in the industry to be showcased that provides high-speed 1394b communications at distances up to 100 meters over standard Category 5 (CAT5) cables found in many homes today. TI's 1394b technology will advance home networking by giving consumers an easy way to create robust, high-speed connections between their living room audio/video components, home office equipment, and personal entertainment devices in any room in the house.
