Synergy Ships New Conduction- and Air-cooled VME Dual Processor Boards w/ Latest PowerPC and Memory Controller

1/9/2002 - Synergy Microsystems, Inc., a veteran innovator of advanced VME and CompactPCI computing technologies, today announced production availability of two state-of-the-art dual-CPU boards: the Rhino 10 conduction-cooled and the Falcon P10 air-cooled. Both offer the latest 7410 G4 running up to 466 MHz. The boards fully exploit the advantages of the Discovery(TM) GT-64260, a highly advanced, multifunction 133 MHz memory and system controller. The Rhino 10 meets the needs of extreme military applications with dual CPUs, two PMC sites, 1 GB SDRAM, and maximum shock, vibration and temperature ruggedization. The Falcon P10 targets high-end air-cooled applications with dual CPUs, numerous high-speed on-board I/O interfaces, and a fast PCI secondary system bus over P (P-PCI(TM)). The combination of this fast bus, dual processors and Synergy's optimized math library makes the Falcon P10 ideal for DSP as well as general-purpose applications. Both the Rhino 10 and Falcon P10 support VxWorks® and Linux(TM) (single and symmetric multiprocessing versions). The boards are competitively priced, starting at $12,780 for the Rhino 10 and $6,925 for the Falcon P10.
