Texas Instruments Adds Enhanced Java Technology Capabilities to Its TCS2100 GPRS Chipset Using Kada Systems Mobile Platform

1/16/2002 - In an effort to extend enhanced Java(TM) technology-based applications to every GPRS mobile phone or wireless personal digital assistant (PDA), Kada Systems Inc., a leading provider of solutions that enable Java(TM) applications, and Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) today announced that the Kada Mobile Platform(TM) will be integrated with TIís TCS2100 GPRS chipset. Integration of the Kada Mobile Platform with the TCS2100 further builds on TIís ability to provide Java technology across all of TIís wireless chipset products, and enables GPRS mobile device customers the ability to download and run Java(TM) 2, Micro Edition (J2ME)(TM) applications including games, mobile commerce, business-to-business applications, e-mail and personal management software.
