1/16/2002 - Extended Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:XTND), a leading provider of mobile data management and wireless connectivity software, today reported net revenue of $6.8 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2002, ended December 31, 2001. This compares to net revenue of $5.7 million recorded in the first quarter of fiscal 2002 and $9.8 million recorded in the second quarter of fiscal 2001. The sequential increase in revenue in fiscal 2002 was primarily due to an increase in the licensing of its mobile information management (MIM) software products. Net revenue from MIM software products was $6.4 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2002, an increase of 31% from $4.9 million recorded in the first quarter of fiscal 2002, and comparable to the $6.4 million recorded in the second quarter of fiscal 2001.
