1/21/2002 - Equator Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of video processing engines and platforms, today announced its new MAP-BSPä family of powerful software programmable digital signal processors. Adding to the previously announced MAP-BSP-15 chip, Equator is introducing the MAP-BSP-15-350 chip and the MAP-BSP-15-400 chip, creating a MAP-BSP family of extremely powerful, lower power consumption and more functionally cost-effective universal chips in a range of frequencies designed to serve the entire value chain of video-centric products and applications -- from pixels to packets. Capable of performing up to 40 GOPS (Billion Operations Per Second), the MAP-BSP-15-400, is the most powerful chip of its kind on the market today. Engineering samples for the MAP-BSP-15 are available immediately and samples for the new additions to the family will be available in February. Equator has already gained traction in the market with its predecessor to the MAP-BSP family, the MAP-CA(TM) chip, which has been deployed by renowned companies such as Polycom, Xerox, Acer, Samsung, Pace and Siemens.
