Sun Microsystems Increases Cross Platform Support Within Sun One

1/28/2002 - Sun Microsystems, Inc. today announced plans to provide a new Linux version of the iPlanet[tm] Application Server software, a move that underscores its continued commitment to cross platform support across the Sun[tm] Open Net Environment (Sun ONE), Sun's vision, architecture, platform and expertise for developing and deploying services on demand. Already supporting popular platforms such as Solaris[tm] Operating Environment (OE), Windows, IBM AIX, HP-UX and OS/390, Sun is now expanding its Linux support beyond existing versions of the iPlanet[tm] Web Server for content generation, iPlanet[tm] Message Queue for integration and Forte[tm] for Java[tm] tools to include the iPlanet Application Server for a complete development environment on Linux.
