Using GEL File for Parallel Development and Testing of DSP Applications

4. Conclusion

This application note has illustrated the use of GEL to emulate the functionality of the Host processor. This allows the DSP engineers to test their algorithms without the need to wait for the MCU engineers to complete their codes or Hardware board to be available. In doing so, parallel debugging between the MCU and DSP teams is possible. As shown in the example, the GEL file is easy to use and it offers great flexibility in system debugging.
